near Guisborough, England (United Kingdom)

We enjoyed this walk in the mainly open moorland with the good views and unique Quaker's Causeway path. Lots of variations on the western section and around Commondale of which mine is probably not the best but not a problem. A footpath crosses the stream (Whiteley Beck) further east from our crossing which you can take.
Westworth wood always seems to have forestry activity and the path suffers as a result. I hope my gps route helps here.

I have followed this trail  View more

Enjoyed this walk on a sunny day towards the end of a dry April. Steepish climb out of Guisborough but then fairly level across the Moor with great views all round. Nice pub in Common Dale with loungers overlooking the beck
Timing is about right at 5 hours. We would recommend but I wouldn't advise it in poor visibility or during a wet spell
