Beautiful and panoramic stage in which we will enjoy almost the entire journey of the vision of the imposing Lake Mjosa on our left. We leave Nordre Hestnes Gård following the directions of a neighbor to return to link in the fastest way with road signs. Although it is necessary to overcome a slope on the side of a house, it is linked without excessive difficulty to continue on asphalt and then lower until we practically touch the river at the height of the station of Espa. We continue along a beautiful path until we reach Tangen, where we make a small detour to visit its beautiful church and make the first break in the morning. The road follows tracks and a small piece of asphalt in an admirable environment of small valleys and hills now further away from the lake. Towards kilometer 15.5 we passed by Ekeberg Gård, which as indicated in a previous poster, to July 2018 no longer welcomes pilgrims. At kilometer 18.7 we reached a place that would go unnoticed if it is not because an informative sign indicates that we are in the place known as Feginsbrekka, something like hill of joy or even mountain of joy in more Jacobean terms. From there, it is said that the pilgrims in the Middle Ages experienced that feeling of joy as you can see the pinnacle of the stately church of Stange, the first church in kilometers as well as more in the distance the promontory where the imposing cathedral was located of Hamar, Domkirkeodden. At present, in any case, we are satisfied with seeing the church of Stange still in the distance, as well as a beautiful panoramic view of the region. We enter a cultivation area until we come to a well-marked fork where on the right we go to Stange and on the left, as is our case, we go to his church. It is curious, but in Norway, in general, the churches of the populations, with some exceptions, are usually separated at least 2-3 kilometers from the inhabited nuclei. The church of Stange is well worth a visit and a rest, besides serving, of course, to fill our canteens. In this beautiful country, the cemeteries, always on foot of the churches, lose the sometimes dismal connotation to which we are accustomed above all in the south of Europe, and are beautiful parks where in addition to offering excellent water, they invite to the walk and the rest . There, in Stange Kirke, we also find the San Olav stone so characteristic that it marks that we are 503 km from Nidaros. We continue to the left for els Vestbygdvegen and immediately we arrive at the sign that tells us to turn left to reach our accommodation today, Store Gillund Gård, the beautiful and large equine and pig farm where we will spend the night. A stone's throw away, we can go down to the bathing area of Lake Mjosa, without a doubt, recommended.
