We leave the beautiful city of Lillehammer and with it Lake Mjosa to start our days by the Gudbrandsdal, which gives its name to this route of the Way of St. Olav, and for which we will walk for a few days. The Olympic city in 1994 we left following the bike path that runs along Gundbrandsdalvegen street. Towards the DM5,35, we went through a kind of business and studies center called Fakkelgården, through which we finally left Lillehammer's urban center. From there we approach the Gudbrandsdalslagen river that gives its name to the valley, and we will follow a beautiful stretch of lush vegetation more or less following the railway line, which we will cross at the bottom in a curious tunnel at some point. Towards km 9 we will leave this section to return to the road and the Gundbrandsdalsvegen and barely 2 km later we cross the knot of roads to Oyer, where there is a small area of rest and an informative panel, we start to go up a track in the middle of the valley that will soon take us along the monacal road in the middle of the forest, known as Tjodveigen, in which after the Sagaa bridge, it is worth making the small detour that takes us to the cascade of love or Kjærlighetsfossen. The road will take us past a tunnel to the detour to Nermo Hotell & Hytter, where it is possible to stay if we want to shorten this long stage of today. The road in the middle of the valley offers spectacular views of the Gudbrandsdal valley and brings us little by little to the charming place of Skåden Gard, which we reached at kilometer 24.5. It is a place of story that dates back to 1734 and in which accommodation is offered to pilgrims in one of its beautiful wooden houses. We today, however, hungry for kilometers will continue through beautiful spots until we reach the detour at kilometer 35.5 of the Porkgrimsloftet Borkerud, where we stayed and that even has an impressive waterfall a few meters away which can only be accessed if you decide stay in that place.
