Profile:

It is time to place ourselves at the foot of the great mountains. We start another of the main stages throughout the trek. We go to the small town of Gorakshep. This is the last town or village before the base camp. The highest point where we go to sleep. Certainly it is perceived in the whole group the loss that causes the altitude of particular form in each one. They appear colds, headaches, fatigue. It is even evident that in the social dining room all the people who make the trek are calmer, thoughtful and without much scandal.

The route has an interesting climb profile to which we have to add the difficulty imposed by the altitude. We start from Dzonglha following a beautiful path along the Chola Tsho Lake, located at the foot of the Cholatse. Certainly this mountain has a special charm and the photos I refer.

We have about two and a half hours with a progressive climb profile and with beautiful views of the Chola glacier. A feeling of high mountain.

As we go around an enormous mass called Nangkar, we find ourselves facing the famous Khumbu Glacier, the main entrance to the Everest base camp. We ascend until we find the path that goes down to Tengboche. We will take it back.

We ascend a few meters to meet after almost three hours with the population of Lobuche. This is located on the edge of the Glacier, more specifically the lower part. And it is a small town with some shops and several Lodges some quite interesting and very cozy.

Now on the left side of the glacier we have a significant hour and a half climb until we reach the upper part of Gorakshep, from here we have a descent to the village. This stretch, either because of the height or because of fatigue, becomes long and tedious. It is common to see hikers sitting resting. The pulsations here are accelerated.

Some of the mountains that we can enjoy are: Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbutse and part of the Nuptse.

This is the refuge where everything is more expensive, the water is around 4 euros, charging mobile phone batteries and gps is quite expensive and the shelter is not bad, but it is very large and very crowded.
