near England Creek, Queensland (Australia)

This is the England Creek - Left Branch off-track walk from "Take a Walk in South-East Queensland".

The point at which you leave Lawton Rd is a narrow foot track just after the clearing containing beehives. It soon joins the remnants of the old logging track mentioned in the book
There are several remnant logging tracks as you go down the ridge, so don't worry if you can't find what passes for the track
Going up the creek is hard work in places, particularly when you have to navigate through lantana and the like on the steep terrain either side of the creek bed. It's worth casting around to find other peoples' tracks (I didn't do this enough)
I think I left the creek bed too early, but the lower slopes above the creek were very steep and slippery at this point
At the end of the trail I carried on along the top to the Western Window.

I found it a fairly hard walk in places, with all the scrambling and bush-bashing.

descent to creek isn’t too bad but the climb back out is a little tough

What’s the scrub, lantana etc like coming down from Northbrook Mtn. I came down the opposite ridge from Joyner this week and it was abominable. Also how clear is the climb up to the Western Window track (still closed by NP).
