near Dzhergalan, Ysyk-Köl (Kyrgyz Republic)
A rugged trek across three alpine passes of the Tian Shan. Navigate high mountain pastures, Sary-Jaz valley and Jyrgalan and Ashu-Tor passes. The adventure tops out with a finish that includes Echkili-Tash and a scramble leading to views of Peak Khan-Tengri, the third-highest peak in Kyrgyzstan at 7010 meters.

moderate difficulty for all sections with the exception eckili-tash pass (3274m) to Sary Dzaz valley.
This section is difficult and pathless. There is a gorge at UTM 44T 360139.68 4691524.00 that may be very hard to negotiate if water in the small river is high. You can avoid this bottle neck by taking a detour to the west, scaling the last hill ridges to the north of the Sary Dzaz valley and then coming down to the Sary Dzaz. Nice scenery, mostly nomad country. Better ride than walk ;-)
