near Deal, England (United Kingdom)
10.6 miles on foot and 9.33 by train. This route has fine views of the white cliffs and the port of Dover. There are two useful pubs on the route and many more as you approach Walmer and Deal. Some of the land is managed by the Nationl Trust. There is at least one site of special scientific interest. The train from Deal follows the coast south west before heading to London. In bad weather, there is little shelter and the route would become difficult. Dogs and smaller children should be guarded carefully due to the cliffs.
