Very beautiful 4 hour walk in the heart of the Sierra de Santa Marta, passing by rivers, waterfalls, coffee and cacao plantations among others. In general, the path is not difficult, but you have to climb about 800m before start descending to Minca.
It is a path used by the few inhabitants of the mountain range, farmers with small coffee farms. Sometimes it's hard to see where to go because there are several options for secondary paths.
There is no map, just a "sketch" made by Finca Carpe Diem. The best option is to hire a guide who knows the trail or follow Mas.me.
There are dangerous snakes and when it rains, the streams increase in flow and the current is very strong in some places.

I have followed this trail  View more

Feb 2022 from finca to Minca. First hour nice views in forrest and next to river. Then trenches start uphill and turn into and small paths that are overgrown like only a few people a year take this route. This takes about two hours. All uphill. We found it quite hard. Don't do this route without gps, it's difficult to keep on track. Views on top are nice.
