I have followed this trail  verified  View more

I started from the town and the first section is paved road for about 3/4 km which isn’t the most scenic.
Once you get to the actual trail at the top of this section it is much nicer. You now start to get the views out towards Gibraltar. At about the 6km there is a bend and it starts to head downwards but make sure you take the little track to the right which brings you up to the actual viewing point which has great views and makes a nice lunch stop. It would be easy to miss this as it’s not signed or marked which is a bit strange. I would have been so annoyed if I missed it. There is also a refuge with picnic benches a little bit down from here.
It’s a tough track walking down and this is the only hard part of the trail. The last 2km are on the road back into the upper part of the town with no footpath. So I went into the town and worked my way back up to my car from there. Overall an enjoyable easy enough trek with some fantastic views out to Africa.

I agree, the view from the actual viewing point should not be missed. If lucky, you might even see big birds from there
