At mile 1.9 past the West Entrance, park on a small roadside parking to the right.
Head towards the small hill to the South/West, away from the road.
Keep the rocky hills to your right an move more to the south east.
Eventually you will pick up an unmarked trail, following a wash heading South.
Just before a larger hill, turn right into a small valley and go over the saddle.
Go down a bit and turn right into another wash.
Go over another saddle and keep on going North to North West.
Going up from one saddle to another in the same general direction.
Ending up in a larger canyon wash heading North West ("Wash 3").
This is an easy part, but only for short while. The wash drops more steeply in an extreme boulder area.
But surprise, it's actually easy to come down.
Looking back, it's hard to imagine that you came down that way.
Just before an impossible drop, we started to hike to the right. (North/West -> North/East)
Heading up the more steeper hill. This is the steepest climb of all, but keep more in the rocky wash.
Over the saddle ("Saddle 4"), there is the return wash.
An easy stroll back a bit uphill on an obvious mostly sandy trail.
Hiking time: 3 Hour, 30 Minutes, return.
Warning: Even though this hike start closer to the road, it's easy to get lost out here. Everything looks the same.
The positive side, is that most hills aren't very steep and can be hiked up in almost any wash.
And take plenty of water....
