The hike to Albany wasn't bad at all - all on established trails. A trail seems to continue on past the summit - not sure just where it goes. Then went down to Albany notch and whacked up Peter Mtn and then over to Farwell and back the trail up so we could return to the car. The whack wasn't easy - terrain was steep and the bugs bad (even with deet).
I'd recommend Albany but suggest skipping Peter / Farwell although the view from Farwell was very nice. Seemed like there was a hiking trail or snowmobile trail from Farwell summit down but we didn't following it very long because it didn't appear to go where we wanted to go (who knows?).
