Sections 2.2 and 3.1 of the Appalachian Trail , passing through the state of Connecticut, from south to north.

We conducted the stage together with a group of mountaineers from Hudson Valley Hikers, starting at the intersection of the AT with West Cornwall Road, Sharon, CT.

Most of the route runs on the grounds of the Housatonic State Forest, with small ups and downs along the slope and ridge of Sharon Mountain (1,368 feet) and one of its most outstanding peaks (Mt. Easter, with 1,391 feet).

A short distance from the starting point, the trail ascends quickly and crosses a rocky area, with a picturesque passage between large rocks, in the style of a "squeezer lion", and reached the top, before crossing the Pine Swamp Brook and its Homonymous refuge (Pine Swamp Brook Shelter) offers beautiful panoramic views over the nearby mountains and valleys.

From that point on, we continued for more than four miles, at an average height of between 1,000 and 1,500 feet, with small hills and gentle descents, noticing, through the trees, the tops of the nearest mountains.

The most open and interesting panoramic view is the one that provides us with a viewpoint located to the north, a short distance from the top of Sharon Mountain, known as Hang Glider View, with extraordinary panoramic views, in the distance, of Mt Everett, Bear Mountain and other summits of the Taconic Range. From this same place you can also contemplate the closest area of racing tracks of the Lime Rock Automobile.

Subsequently, the trail descends from the Sharon Mountain slope to the Housatonic River valley, crossing the US-7 and CT-112 roads, to continue for more than three miles parallel or very close to the river bed, with beautiful views of the same, until reaching the iron bridge that crosses it in the town of Falls Village.

The stage finishes when crossing said bridge, that in the date of the route was still in construction, reason for which an alternative route had been enabled that avoided the crossing of the bridge. We preferred to follow the ordinary path, and despite the warnings to the contrary, we had no difficulty crossing the iron bridge in Falls Village.
