This little Scotland Bike Tour was made in September 2013. We left Glasgow and in a couple of days we arrived in Fort William, practically almost on the same line as the famous West Highland Way trek, alongside the Loch Lomond and the beautiful Glencoe valley.
From Fort William we traveled west to a peninsula to Mallaig where we boarded the Isle of Skye (Hebrides), here we stayed two and a half days and we went through almost everything from South to North and then back to South.

We returned to the British island via the Kyle of Lochalsh bridge, from here we pointed north to the highest pass in Britain, the Bealach na Bà Pass (630 meters high). From here we went down to the remote Applecross peninsula, a few houses and no telephone coverage.
From Torridon on a day of cycling we made from coast to coast from West to East to the city of Inverness and the following day the coast to coast again, but on the contrary, skirting the Loch Ness and coming back to Fort William , the end of our bike trip.
In all we have traveled about 800 km in 8 days. On the ninth day, not tired of pedaling, we climbed on foot to the summit of Ben Nevis, which with its 1344 meters of height is the highest mountain in Great Britain. It is necessary to start from the sea level, so the difference in height must be done.

The weather was very bad, practically it rained every day: even when it seemed that everything was clear, it was enough to climb high and find clouds and rain. We have always slept in the hostels, which are scattered all over the territory: cheap and efficient. For food, we would alternate pasta dinners in hostels with grilled salmon in Scottish pubs. We really appreciated the presence of the Dry room, a heated and airy room where it was possible to dry our perennially wet things.
