Although this lovely mountain is always referred to as "Strútur" I figured I'd better use the full name to prevent confusion - there is another mountain named Strútur (for which I have uploaded a track). The Google map of this area is horrible - basically a blanket of clouds with a tiny hole in it! This certainly doesn't do justice to the view from the summit - which is fantastic. Note that I uploaded the descent part of the track (the ascent track was of poor quality) - it's easy to reverse in MapSource (or equivalent software). Finally I should say that this ascent was done as part of a hike from the cabin at Strútur to Þórsmörk - only the first few pictures arew from the ascent, the rest from the hike (which I'll hopefully upload one of these days!).
