You search needs more filter criteria.

For instance.

Country / State / Trail type (hiking/cycling/etc)

When there are hundreds of tracks, it is cumbersome to pick through them all.

Distance...

Also, some tracks are not only 'mountain bike' or 'run', they can be done in more than 1 way, e.g:
mountain bike + allroad + run, etc. Ideally there should also be a distinction between the HOW (foot, bicycle, motorcycle, car)
and the WHAT (mountains, scenic, towns, lakes, waterfalls, etc)

This would hugely increase the number of returned tracks.

First of all congratulation for this idea, it is perfect to share routes.

Sometimes I want to search all the routes near to a specific place (or specific point in the map) with specific characteristics, for example “mountain bike routes within 100Km of Bogota”, I think it is no difficult to develop and it very useful for people that are looking routes in a specific place.

Yeah!! Another Criteria to look for routes may be voting the routes. The more votes get a route, the better may be it.

How about searching the trail descriptions?

I just added a bunch of trails that form part of the Pacific Crest Trail (http://wikiloc.com/wikiloc/user.do?name=IntrepidAntipodean), but there is no "place" called the Pacific Crest Trail (or PCT for short) so if someone searches for that they aren't found, despite it being quite clear in the trail name and description.
