Hola,

Sabeu quina és la manera de canviar el mapa de fons quan es copia el codi html en una altra pàgina ?

si poso maptype=T es veu un topogràfic, però jo voldria posar el fons del 1:5000 del ICC

Hi, are there any other parameters that can be used in the URL such as description=on? If not is there an easy way to pull the description from wikilic for embedding?

Thanks!
Dimos

Hello,

It should work fine and it is possible. See for example the Panoramio's blog (using WordPress) where they embed minimaps for photos: http://www.panoramio.com/blog/

If you "view the HTML source" you'll see that it is the same kind of HTML code in wikiloc so it should work fine too.

I don't have a wp blog where to test it but blog editors usually do have an option to write the post in HTML (instead of the usual rich text format). I would try to paste the embeddable code on the editor in 'html' mode.

Thanks for the feedback, hopefully we'll find a solution for this issue.

here is how you do it

Is there a possibility to force embedded WikiLoc pages to always show the distance in kilometers?
At the moment, for everyone who is not logged-in, all pages from en.wikiloc show distances in miles. This maybe fine for the UK and USA but the rest of the world is metric.

Something like: &measures=on&distance=metric

Thank you.

Hi Dimos,

I would also like to show this information on my embedded maps.

Did you find a solution after you posted this message?

I think noone from wikiloc checks our posts.

Hi,
i have seen that your web page is in turkish.
In the embedded maps use the url:
tr.wikiloc.com instead of www.wikiloc.com
and the units will be in metric.

I think that wikiloc in english always use imperial units.

@ cagatay

Here you can see what is happening. Goto this site that is still very much under construction: geovilluercas.com, hover over activities and then click Hiking. Click any village and then click a route. The Wikiloc map and the trail data will show-up in an inline frame. If you right-click on the map and the choose This Frame and then Open Frame in New Tab (I am using Firefox terms, other browsers will show similar terms) you will see that the URL of the page in the inline frame starts with http://en.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/spatialArtifacts.do?event=view& etc. etc. Notice http://en. etc. etc., en. for English.

Now if one is logged-in in Wikiloc and has set the preferences to metric the page will show distance, elevation, height etc in km/meters. However, if one is not logged-in the page will use the Wikiloc default settings for en.wikiloc and show distance, elevation, height etc. in miles/feet.

Thus, the visitors to geovilluercas.com, whom almost by definition will not be logged-in, will see miles/feet instead of km/meters. As geovilluercas.com is aiming at an international audience and not exclusively at visitors from the UK or USA, showing the data in imperial units instead of metric is is confusing and thus wrong.

Therefore my question whether a parameter like for example &distance=metric could be added, which then would force Wikiloc to always show distance, elevation, height etc. in km/meters.

Alas, there has been no response. Which is a pity.
