Sorry but I am very new to this so maybe a stupid question. I have just downloaded some trails to my Garmin nuvi 1340, everything worked fine and if I plug my Garmin into my laptop I can see the GPX files on my device in a folder called GPX. What I don't understand is how do I actually see the trails on my Garmin? All my Garmin allows me to to is Where To? Address, Points of Interest etc., or View Map? I have tried coping files to an sdcard but when I go to extras it just reports no extras loaded?

The Nuvi is not a GPS, but actually a navigator. As such, it may not have the possibility to see on the screen trails uploaded. I don't have a Nuvi though, so I'm not 100% sure of this

Thank you for your reply. What is a good GPS to buy?

Any Garmin usually is a good option (I'm not an expert on GPS). Just get one that is not made to be used as a navigator for a car and it will certainly support tracks from Wikiloc you can upload and follow. There's a GPS specific forum thread you can use to ask for advise on what to buy
